We are writing to you because you have previously shown an interest in, or the council believes you may have an interest in, the East Riding Local Plan. The council is currently consulting on a Draft Local Plan Update and there are now six weeks left to respond before the consultation closes on Friday, 6 August 2021.
A series of public consultation drop-in events have been arranged throughout July to give you the chance to speak to a planning officer about the proposals. The drop-in events will be held at the following East Riding venues. There is no need to book a place to attend, please just drop-in at any location and time that suits you on the days specified:

The events will follow strict COVID-19 guidelines and all attendees should adhere to safety measures in place at each venue. These include, but are not limited to; wearing face masks, hand sanitisation, social distancing, use of the NHS COVID-19 Test and Trace app or sign-in sheet and following one-way systems. Visitors may be asked to queue and/or limit their time in the event during busy periods.
All the events will be reviewed in consultation with the council’s public health team 48 hours prior to taking place to ensure staff and visitor safety. Should an event need to be cancelled, the information will be updated online: www.eastriding.gov.uk/localplanupdate. Anyone wishing to attend an event is advised to check the website beforehand to ensure it is still going ahead.

How to view the documents
All consultation documents are available to view on the council’s website at: www.eastriding.gov.uk/localplanupdate or in hard copy at all East Riding libraries, customer service centres, multi service centres and mobile libraries during normal opening hours.
Please note, these locations are now open for browsing but coronavirus restrictions are currently in place and measures can differ depending on location. Before visiting please go to www.eastridingculture.co.uk/coronavirus for the latest coronavirus information and consider accessing the documents online before travelling to an East Riding facility.

How to comment on the documents
To comment on the consultation documents, please complete the online response form at: www.eastriding.gov.uk/localplanupdate. The form is easy to use and allows you to comment on as many or few consultation documents as you wish, save your response and continue at a later date and upload supporting attachments.

Please note, electronic responses are our preferred method of contact. Electronic responses can be processed more easily helping the Local Plan Update to progress more quickly.
All comments should be received on or before Friday, 6 August 2021.
Comments will be made publicly available on the council’s website in due course after the consultation period has ended (the council only redacts personal data in respect of email addresses, telephone numbers and signatures).
